The complete process involves cooling the object down to at least -300° F very slowly, which is very gentle, in fact we can Cryo light bulbs without shattering them and it doubles the life of the bulbs.

The first step takes about 2-3 days. During the Cryo process, a transformation in the metal takes place that changes retained austenite into smaller and stronger martensite. At the same time eta carbides are precipitated out and filling in voids in the structure of the metal. After the cryogenic step, most metal objects are then subjected to a specific heating and cooling sequence where we attain "tempered" martensite. Our system is a dry process, your objects are never subjected to liquid nitrogen. After the process is completed, the material is less brittle, stronger, and much more durable than before. We don't change the Rockwell Hardness much but the Tensile strength increase is very significant.
